Puzzle No. 442: German Whispers-XV Pairs Hybrid Sudoku

 



RULES: Place a digit from 1 to 9 in each empty cell so that each digit appears exactly once in each row, column and 3x3 outlined box.
Adjacent digits along each marked line have a difference of at least 5.
Digits separated by an X sum to 10; digits separated by a V sum to 5. Not all possible Xs and Vs are necessarily given.

PUZZLE NO. 403: XV PAIRS - SKYSCRAPERS HYBRID SUDOKU

 


RULES: Classic Sudoku rules apply. If the sum of digits in orthogonally adjacent cells is 10, then they are separated by an X. If the sum of digits in orthogonally adjacent cells is 5, then they are separated by a V. All possible Xs & Vs are not marked. Each digit in the grid represents the height of the skyscraper in each cell. The digits outside the grid indicate the number of skyscrapers seen from the corresponding direction.

RULES: Classic Sudoku rules apply. Classic Sudoku rules apply. Additionally, if the absolute difference between two digits in neighboring cells equals 1, then they are separated by a white dot. If the digit in a cell is half or double of the digit in a neighboring cell, then they are separated by a black dot. The dot staying between 1 and 2 can have any of these dots. All possible dots are not marked. Also, if the sum of digits in orthogonally adjacent cells is 10, then they are separated by an X. If the sum of digits in orthogonally adjacent cells is 5, then they are separated by a V. All possible Xs & Vs are not marked.

  • Killer Sudoku rules apply, i.e., there are some cages in the grid. The number on the top left corner of each cage is equal to the sum of the digits in that cage. Digits do not repeat inside a cage.  
  • Kropki Pairs rules apply, i.e. if the absolute difference between two digits in neighboring cells equals 1, then they are separated by a white dot. If the digit in a cell is half or double of the digit in a neighboring cell, then they are separated by a black dot. The dot staying between 1 and 2 can have any of these dots.
