There are some thermometer shapes in the grid. The digits are in increasing order from the bulb to the flat end of each thermometer.

Puzzle No. 463: Sum Next to 9 Sudoku

 


Rules: Place a digit from 1 to 9 in each empty cell so that each digit appears exactly once in each row, column and 3x3 outlined box.
Clues outside of the grid indicate the sum of the digits next to 9 in that row or column. If a 9 appears at the very end of its row or column, the clue shows the value of the single digit next to the 9.

If the sum of digits in orthogonally adjacent cells is 10, then they are separated by an X. If the sum of digits in orthogonally adjacent cells is 5, then they are separated by a V. All possible Xs & Vs are marked.
